Len was predeceased by his loving wife Edith and his three brothers. He is survived by his 4 children, their spouses, and 9 grandchildren: Bryan & Debbie of Port Alberni and their boys Daniel & Patrick; Wendy & Jack MacArthur of Dhaka, Bangladesh and their children Jess & Tim; David & Jae of Didsbury and their boys Mac, Steven & Michael; Lori & Jim Wilson of Port Alberni and their daughters Ali & Freyja. Len is also survived by 4 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many close supportive friends.
Len was born October 5, 1920 near Chaplin, Saskatchewan. He was the youngest of four boys of Mary and David Teskey. He went to school in Chaplin until 1931 when the family moved to the Meadow Lake area. After the death of his father, the family moved to Rocky Mountain House, Alberta where he worked on a farm, in the sawmill business and took his training to become an automotive mechanic.
In 1949, he married Edith McDonald and in 1950 they moved to Grande Prairie where he worked for the Alberta Government. Four children were born to them there. His work with the Alberta Government eventually took him to Claresholm, Calgary, and back to Claresholm. He retired in 1977 and then enjoyed a long retirement.
Music had always been a big part of his life and he played fiddle and banjo with many groups over the years. He was still playing his banjo up until the end of his life.
Funeral services will be held on October 5, 2013 at 11 A.M. at the Faith Community Baptist Church (4404-3rd Street West in Claresholm) with Pastor Don Holloway officiating. If friends wish, a memorial donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
