<div itemprop="description">SCHUBERT, Konrad <br />February 8, 1928 &ndash; July 28, 2013 <br /> <br />Konrad passed away, on July 28, 2013, following complications from a fall. <br />He is survived by his daughters Bianca Evans and Brenda Doyle (Barry); his grandchildren Cameron Evans, Tera Evans (Mike Ingram), Amanda Stecz (Andrew McPherson), Clayton Doyle (Catrina Rasmussen); his two great- granddaughters Amelia and Wylee McPherson; his very special friend Jean Reid; his ex-wife and mother of his children Elizabeth Schubert. He is also survived by his two brothers Wolfgang Schubert and Dieter Schubert as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Jutta and his grandson Michael. <br /> <br />Konrad was born in Erfurt Germany to Karl and Elly Schubert. He immigrated to Canada in the 1950's, eventually settling in Calgary where he established a very successful carpentry business. Upon retirement he spent several years as a snowbird in New Mexico. He then relocated to Sundre, where following the demise of his marriage, met and fell in love with Jean. Konrad remained active in the Sundre/Olds area; swimming almost daily, lead male singer in a choir, and dancing, which was always his greatest passion. <br /> <br />Konrad suffered a stroke in October 2011 and relocated to the Porcupine Hills Lodge in Claresholm where he resided until his passing. <br /> <br />At Konrad's request, no formal funeral service will be held.
