<div itemprop="description"> <p> Grant was born on the homestead farm, west of Stavely, on November 11, 1918.&nbsp; He passed away in Claresholm, on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, after having celebrated his 94th birthday with family and friends, ten days previously.&nbsp; </p> <p> Grant was the third youngest child of a family of eleven children, attending school in Stavely and Pine Coulee, often riding horseback with his siblings to get to school.&nbsp; He spent five years overseas in World War II, where he met his wife May, a Scottish war bride.&nbsp; Grant and May celebrated sixty-nine years of marriage and had one son, Gary (Janet).&nbsp; After serving in the Canadian army, Grant returned to Stavely where he farmed and ranched on the original Brown homestead.&nbsp; He remained active in farming, working until well into his 80&rsquo;s with his son.&nbsp; Grant loved his family, and especially his grandsons, Dana (Marni) and Josh, and his great-granddaughters, Kasey and Sydney.&nbsp; Josh&rsquo;s special friends, Gail, Cole and Micah were also loved and appreciated.&nbsp; He was always close to his brothers and sisters and all of his nieces and nephews. <br /> </p> <p> </p> <p> Grant enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.&nbsp; He was active in the Oddfellows, served on Stavely Town Council, supported the Stavely Rodeo and enjoyed visiting the Canadian Legion.&nbsp; He will be very much missed by family and friends. </p> </div>
