<div itemprop="description"><br /> <br /> Grace Anna Wilson <br /> <br /> December 29, 1919 &ndash; February 26, 2013 <br /> <br /> &nbsp; <br /> <br /> &nbsp; <br /> <br /> Grace Wilson, aged 93, passed away in her sleep at the Claresholm General Hospital, following a sudden illness. Grace was born December 29th, 1919 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan,&nbsp;daughter of Icelandic immigrants, Chris and Anna Bergthorson. <br /> <br /> &nbsp; <br /> <br /> Grace will be lovingly missed by her sister, Esther. She will also be missed by her three sons, their spouses and families; Jim (Lori) of Port Alberni, B.C.;&nbsp;Don (Joelane) of Calgary and Harvey (Hazel) of Victoria, B.C. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; April (Joel), Anna (Jon), Alexandra, Freyja and Ross as well as 3 great grandchildren; Ella, L&eacute;o and &Eacute;tienne. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends. <br /> <br /> From an early age, Grace developed a love of art that she would continue to express through the years as an oil and watercolour painter, photographer and later sculpting delightful clay creatures she loved to give as gifts. <br /> She studied nursing at the Saskatoon City Hospital, graduating in 1941. Her career took her to places in Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Vancouver, eventually moving to Lethbridge where she nursed at the Galt and St. Michael's hospitals. She was married to Scotty Wilson in 1949 in Lethbridge and they moved to Claresholm in 1951 when Scotty was offered a position as a mechanic. <br /> <br /> <br /> In addition to raising a family of three boys, Grace was also a dedicated volunteer for Project Read, the&nbsp;Claresholm Museum as well as being a founding member and president of the Claresholm General Hospital Auxiliary. Grace also spent considerable time helping neighbours and friends in time of need and many remember her gifts of wonderful baking. She was a member of the Claresholm United Church and Sons of Norway. <br /> <br /> <br /> Donations may be sent in her memory to: Claresholm and District Health Foundation, Box 2638, Claresholm,&nbsp;Alberta T0L 0T0. <br /> <br /> <br />A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 27, 2013 at 1pm at the Claresholm United Church. <br /> <br /> &nbsp; &#8203;</div>
