<div itemprop="description"> <p> <strong> Goslin, George Arthur </strong> </p> <p> <br /> November 15, 1926 - October 28, 2012 <br /> Our loving dad and dear friend passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at&nbsp; <br /> the Colonel Belcher Care West, Calgary, where he had been living for&nbsp; <br /> the past 1 1/2 years. <br /> George was born and grew up on the farm at North Cooking Lake, east of&nbsp; <br /> Edmonton. Upon leaving school, he took an aircraft technical course at&nbsp; <br /> NAIT and worked for Canadian Pacific Airlines. He joined the navy in&nbsp; <br /> WWII and worked as a mechanic on aircraft carriers. When discharged,&nbsp; <br /> he continued aircraft mechanic work for 25 years in Alberta,&nbsp; <br /> Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. With aircraft cutbacks in 1964, George&nbsp; <br /> settled in Claresholm, where he operated the swimming pool, skating&nbsp; <br /> rink, an electronics shop and worked at the Care Centre as a ward aide&nbsp; <br /> for 20 years. <br /> George married his sweetheart, Muriel Marshall, February 25, 1950 in&nbsp; <br /> Edmonton. They shared 57 wonderful years together, until she passed&nbsp; <br /> away in 2007. <br /> George is survived by his older sister Lucia Gwilliams (Claresholm)&nbsp; <br /> and younger sister Kay Dixon (Sherwood Park); son Sam (Eileen) Goslin&nbsp; <br /> of Claresholm; daughters Patricia (Russ) Luke of Leduc and Mary Ellen&nbsp; <br /> Goslin of Okotoks; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many&nbsp; <br /> nephews and nieces. George was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth&nbsp; <br /> (Groves) and father Arthur Goslin, his older brother Earl who died in&nbsp; <br /> the war and oldest sister Viola. <br /> Funeral services will be held at Faith Community Baptist Church,&nbsp; <br /> Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Reception and burial to follow. <br /> Memorial donations may be made to Missions Aviation Fellowship of&nbsp; <br /> Canada, 264 - Woodlawn Rd.
