She will be dearly missed by her children: Iris (Doug) Fletcher, Wayne McCutcheon, Barbara (Mario) Genest, daughter-in-law Susan McCutcheon; her grandchildren: Trisha (Peter) Gibson, Stacy (Rob) Kelly, Cody (Andrea) Fletcher, Jason (Jen) DeBussac, Jade (Chris) Dodds, Martin Genest, Ashley (Kyle) Crocker, Dustin McCutcheon; her 9 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, three sister-in-laws and some very dear friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years Ralph, in 2011, their youngest son Dale in 1992, her parents and all of her 9 siblings.

Eva was born in Hardy, Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm in the area. She completed her high school in Regina and while working in Ceylon met Ralph. Their marriage was the beginning of a lifelong adventure; living and working in many areas of Canada.

Eva was a happy wife and talented homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, making jams and pickles, baking and was famous for her homemade buns and bread. She was also skilled at making and fixing things both inside and outside the house. When her children grew up she went to work at the Okotoks Hardware. When they moved to Claresholm in the late 1970’s she worked at Link and the present day Home Hardware until she retired.

She loved her travels and they became snowbirds. She also had many memorable trips with her sisters and daughters over the years. Eva was a kind, caring, gentle lady who loved to help others when in need. She will be remembered by everyone who knew her as a wonderful, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.

A celebration of Eva’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eva’s memory may be made to the Claresholm and District Health Foundation, Box 2638 Claresholm, Alberta T0L 0T0.

Eva’s family would like to thank all the wonderful staff for their kindness and caring while she resided at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre the past three years.
