<div itemprop="description">BASKIN, David Gordon <br />August 7, 1925 &ndash; December 18, 2013 <br /> <br />David Gordon Baskin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Dave was born in Enchant on August 7, 1925. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret (nee McKee); his son Dale (Nancy); his daughter Donna (Ron) MacKay. He was the proud grandpa of grandsons, Matt (Leigh-Ann) Baskin, Ian (Layne) MacKay and Jess (Jenn) MacKay and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Cierra Baskin and Hayden and Luxxin MacKay. Dave is also survived by his brother Jack (Ruth); his sister Bonnie Milner; brother-in-law Bob (Kaye) McKee; and sister-in-law Helen McKee as well as nieces and nephews. <br /> <br />Dave started out his career as a telegraph operator at the CPR station in Enchant in 1941; he later worked at the station in Claresholm. He served in the Canadian Military during WWII and came home to marry Margaret in Calgary in 1946. He continued to work for CPR for seventeen years and then worked for Texas Gulf in Okotoks and Whitecourt. He was transferred to Ontario where he worked for Kidd Creek Mines. Dave and Marg returned to Alberta and enjoyed their retirement years. <br /> <br />A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave&rsquo;s memory may be made to the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre (South Unit) Box 700 Claresholm, Alberta T0L 0T0. <br /></div>
