<div itemprop="description">ALLEN, Clarence James<br />August 13, 1918-January 19, 2015<br />Clarence James Allen passed away January 19th, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Clarence met his wife and best friend of 60 years marrying Lamona Marlene Alida Archibald on February 23, 1954 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Wainwright, Alberta. After a call from Clarence&rsquo;s barber friend, Walter Stan about a business opportunity, they arrived in Whitehorse, Yukon December 20, 1954. Over the next 25 years they welcomed and raised 5 children. Clarence was proprietor of Vet's Barber Shop, a fireman, correctional officer and city councilor during his working career in Whitehorse. They left the Yukon in 1979 enjoying 25 years in Creston, BC on their hobby orchard. Their children and grandchildren have fond memories of visits to Creston. In 2004, they moved to Claresholm AB to be closer to family. Clarence was a proud life member of the Knights of Columbus, in Wainwright, Whitehorse, Creston and Claresholm. Left to celebrate his life are his loving wife Lamona; 5 children Betty (Mike) Olfert, Cathy (Randy) Howes, Jim (Glenna) Allen, Audrey (Tom) Young, Patricia (Kerry) Pettitt; 13 grandchildren Joe (Kaylee) Olfert, Lisa (Tyler) Hilbert, Adam Olfert, Nancy Olfert, Corey Young, Brianne (Ryan) Warner, Erin (Trevor) Simmons, Meghan (Kyle) Morris, Aaron (Ashley) Pettitt, Andrew Pettitt, Riley Pettitt, Rachel Pettitt, Lauren Howes and 4 great-grandchildren Tyce Hilbert, Brooklynn Warner, Mattea Olfert and Rowan Simmons. Prayers for Clarence will be held Sunday, January 25th, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church (344-50 Ave West). His funeral service will be held Monday, January 26th, 2015 at 11:00 am at Christ the King Church, Claresholm AB. Interment to follow in the Claresholm Cemetery. Clarence's final days were spent in Foothills Country Hospice, in his words where &ldquo;he was treated royally&rdquo;. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Clarence&rsquo;s name to The Foothills Country Hospice Society (c/o Box 274, Okotoks, Alberta T1S 1A5).</div>
